This choral masterpiece, rather than using the Latin text of a funeral mass service, sets lyrical and evocative psalms and other texts from the Lutheran Bible. One excerpt translates as:
“For all flesh is as grass, and all the glory of man as the flower of grass”
The SIU Choral Union & the SIU Concert Choir, accompanied by Dr. Junghwa Lee and Dr. Jiyeon Lee on two pianos, will be led by Dr. Susan Davenport in one of her final performances with SIU choirs.
